SIB trip to England: Canterbury, London and Brighton

Sixty British International Section pupils from years 8, 9 and 10 went on a trip to England from 3rd to 8th November 2024.

After a night on the coach and an early morning ferry crossing from Calais to Dover, the first day was spent discovering the picturesque city of Canterbury and its breathtaking cathedral. Having studied Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales in year 7, it was interesting to explore the pilgrims’ final destination ourselves.

Other highlights of our trip included a guided tour and workshop at Shakespeare’s Globe, seeing some of the paintings we have studied in class at the National Gallery and marvelling at the exhibits in the British Museum. Of course, eating fish and chips together in a restaurant was another special moment! Our last day was spent in Brighton where we admired the Royal Pavilion’s exotic architecture and lavish interior before discovering the city’s amazing street art.

We arrived back in Lyon tired but happy, our heads filled with precious memories.
